The plane is the only place for Materialists, and even then it would have killed me with how much it squandered its potential. A rom com that is neither a com, nor particularly that rom, either. The press tour is by far the most joyful part of that film

Parthenope sure was a movie! I loved watching it but I do not know if I love it, partially because Sorrentino is such a poet of beauty and leering but what does it even mean beyond that. She is the hottest woman alive though my goodness. I am formulating a theory that the Pope series is his best work because something with such gravity as the Vatican is the right match for his indulgences but I don't know. Gosh though I really really wish an Italian director would take a photo of me lol they are so good at making people look so, so delicious. Or like a thumb with painted-on hair and a speedo. No inbetween. Gary Oldman's John Cheever made me laugh because John Cheever's hilarious accent (he grew up a town away from me) should sound like Mark Wahlberg attempting to do a British accent (Cheever had a Boston Brahmin put-on air, but in a bad actor way) but his Boston keeps coming through and I don't think Oldman got there.

this was such a delightful read!! really loved your thoughts on Parthenope and how the suiting felt a bit obvious

I wish I didn’t know that Nécessaire is Marlowe Granados approved because I have heroically resisted buying it for years…Tom’s of Maine is cheaper but also tragically less glamorous…

The formula for Tom's has always done me dirty!!! I think I have tried all the natural deodorants and they either don't work OR make marks on my clothes :(
