According to a reviewer friend of mind, he quipped at the HERETIC Q&A about how nice it was to be back on Sunset Boulevard after all these years and practically no one caught the Divine Brown reference. He was fantastic in HERETIC and I adored his Vanity Fair questionnaire. Yay Hugh!
Absolutely adored reading this and finding a fellow Hugh Grant admirer! He's definitely one of the few remaining movie stars exuding the kind of charisma that is so rare these days and it's all because he's finally at ease on his skin and doing the roles he always aspired to. I've been watching tons of interviews of him over the past few months and I'm so glad he's at last truly enjoying his career and showing the world what a tremendous actor he's been all along, but obviously he's looks made him a good candidate for romantic leading man, which he himself has acknowledged was a phase of his career that shouldn't have lasted that long. Anyway, beyond that what he makes him a genuine charismatic actor and overall good egg is that he's always owned to his mistakes (he's never tried to hide his detention back in 1995 and even joked about it recently on a speech he did for Richard Curtis) and has also put himself forward to fight against the tabloids, contributing to create Hack Off and supporting the Levenson inquiry (which different governments have done all they can to block it).

Hugh was arrested in 1995…well before Notting Hill! Don’t think it makes a big difference though since he had two movies come out that year too.
